Made With Brotherly Love
Finally a cap that can take a beating! Not only are they from Rothera Caps and beautifully hand crafted, but they are also from the best city ever...Philadelphia! I was looking at these caps a few months ago and I am so glad that they are currently being featured on PEDAL Consumption. Keep up the good work GarBear, i'm really diggin' the ones with ear flaps for those cold winter days.

Made in China
Chinese fixed gear enthusiast Liu Lin gets comfortable at Natooke bike shop
As the culture grows, fixed gear cycling is spreading all over the world. Just like any other extreme sport, it started out small and is rapidly growing and always progressing. Yesterday I was browsing around the internet and came across an article about Natooke bike shop. Earlier this month Natooke became the first fixed gear bike shop in China. The shop was founded by the famous German fixed gear acrobat Ines Brunn. Business isn't booming by any means but at the same time more and more people are experimenting with a fixed wheel. Could China be the next fixed gear Japan? Not likely, but with the fixed gear culture growing at such an exponential rate, who knows.
Keep an eye out for more Chinese fixed gear and read full article in the Global Times

Txting Rulez
For more pictures check out Chari & Co. NYC
Wow I just saw these new gloves by Chari & Co. and just got super excited. I have been looking for new gloves for a while now and I think these might just be the ones. Too bad these beauties aren't coming out until fall 2010. The only thing that makes me a little nervous about these are the finger holes shown for texting. I imagine it is going to be a little chilly by the time fall rolls around and i feel like the finger holes will allow cold air to circulate through the gloves when all I want is a little bit of warmth. hmmm, looks like we will have to wait until more specifications are released.

Bangin' Threads
Spotted at Freshness
I was browsing around Freshness yesterday and I saw this windbreaker by NEXUSVII. The colorway, also known as gingham check, is sick and the button up neck will definitely keep the wind out on those breezy spring days. When its warm the chest pocket doubles as a ventilation system as well as the button down vent in the back. For more check this one of a kind windbreaker out at NEXUSVII

ThrowBack
Its great to see some gnarly skidding when the scene was just starting. The Cadence crew was throwing it over the handlebars before I even knew what a fixed gear bike was. Check out the foot-plant at 0:05 and the 360 skid at 0:20...pretty sick. Thank you Jacob Ruff from zlog for enlightening us with this wonderful piece of history.
The Dark Knight
Seen on PEDAL Consumption
This beautiful piece of work appears to be the Stealth bomber of the fixed gear world. I cried a little bit when I saw it.

Off The Wall
As seen on Bomb.Hills.Speed.Kills
Let me start off this glorious post by letting you all in on a little secret about myself...I LOVE VANS. The new Supercorsa California Collection is no exception. These new kicks are all canvas with five available colors each representing a different ranking in the Italian cycling world. The colors include: black for last place, rose for champion, pink for the best sprinter, white for best young rider and my personal favorite GREEN for king of the mountains. For more pictures check out Hypebeast. Word on the street is that these bad boys will be hitting stores in July.

Official Downtown Showdown Edit from Derred Andy on Vimeo.
This is the official release of the Downtown Showdown video brought to you by Derred Andy. Derred did a great job showing you just how hard these dudes shred. There are a few quick shots of Sean Coats in there, he is definitely one to look out for.
Here is a little sneak peak of just how gnarly this little dude gets.

Reckless Abandonment
I have a bone to pick with some of my fellow bike riding students. This very bike has been sitting outside for WEEKS, locked in the same spot with nothing more than a flat tire. Bikes can be found all over campus with just a flat tire or derailed chain. It is incomprehensible to me why these people can't just take their bike back to their apartment and fix the flat, pop the chain back on and give it a little lube up. I mean common, fixing a flat is not rocket science. Get your bike back on the road and RIDE!
