I'm so excited to be back in State College with my mountain bike, the trails here are endless. Today I rode the Accuweather trail, it's not huge but it has some crazy turns and lot's of rad obstacles. The photo is pretty crummy but I was having too much fun to take others. More trails to come, I'm headed to Rothrock State Forest this weekend.
As you may have noticed, I have been out of commission for almost a month now, but not to fear! I have been really busy between work and traveling; things are finally starting to settle down and I will have more time for Crank it! A friend showed me the original post at the beginning of June and I'm really diggin' this guy's style (especially the first shot). Leader was an interesting choice for a fashion photo-shoot especially with the flat bars and white tires; questionable. I think something like this would have been more appropriate. So in a nutshell, I have been way too busy which in turn makes me extremely lazy in my free time which leaves little time to post, whomp. On the bright side the Stumpjumber is getting plenty of use climbing, bombing and exploring.
I love when iPhone photos turn out great; this guy is from the inside of a termite eaten tree in the woods.
Even the sweltering heat couldn't stop this guy. I went into work early today and was able to get off by lunch time and take a ride up to the Forbidden Drive in Fairmount park. All trails are heavily shaded, no one was out and it turned out to be a beautiful ride. I saw the only covered bridge in Philadelphia, bothered some honey bees, checked out a few trails and can't wait to go back for more!
This post is long over due but honestly, I have been having way too much fun actually riding it and haven't had much time to post. What is IT you might ask? Well its my new bike! Last week I picked this beauty up in Philadelphia and have been on it ever since. It's such a blast to ride (maybe a little too fun, I'm covered in scrapes from head to toe). You can check out a full parts list on Pedal Room, it's quite the set up. As of right now I'm heading to Forbidden Drive on Friday; STOKED and more to come.
Although I wasn't in attendance myself (I had the pleasure of soaking up some rays at the beach) one of my good friends Cat Powers was able to snap a few shots for me. I'm really digging these two, it's crazy how close to the action she got (the perks of being a Comcast Sports intern). Waking up at six in the morning and working forty hours a week has really been taking a toll. My Crank it posts have been struggling and I haven't been able to ride nearly as much as I would want. I have finally been getting into a rhythm and yesterday I was able to get a nice ride in. The weather has been awesome and it's summer! Get out there.
I know that I have been doing a bunch of life behind the lens write ups lately but honestly these photos from Full Frame Collective are some of my favorites as of late. Amazing landscapes and awesome riding make for perfect shots. I highly recommend adding these guys to your list of blog frequents. Keep the rad content coming!
I have been meaning to post a few images from the dudes over at Extra Bigger for quite some time now. I originally found out about Extra Bigger after googling the guys from Macaframa; Jason Yim is a major contributor to the Extra Bigger photo stream. Prolly also posts some of their stuff from time to time. There is a ton of rad photographs and these are a few of my favorites. Keep the awesome shots coming!

I was scrolling through my reader today when I came across some of the most beautifully captured skateboard photographs I have seen in a long time. The locations, angles and lighting of Filip Zuan's photographs are literally mind blowing. Although these are a few of my favorites in the skateboarding category he has a ton of rad content that I highly recommend checking out on his website. I need a camera BAD.
Although there are plenty of Instagram haters, I can personally say, I am a fan. It's a great way to snap cool shots on a whim, without carrying around cumbersome camera equipment. If you don't already have one, get one and if you do, follow me as tinj_. If you have some cool shots maybe I'll follow you back.
So I first heard about these guys over on Prolly is not Probably when he visited Affinity NYC (the first photo is from Prolly; one of my favorite shots as of late) and I was blown away by their aluminum track frames oozing with carbon fiber. After doing a little more research I discovered an array of aluminum, steel and carbon track frames, that are each beautiful in their own respect, made from the highest quality materials (Columbus Brain, Columbus Airplane 7005-T6, etc.). I couldn't find where the frames are actually manufactured but DOSNOVENTA is based out of Barcelona, Spain and was founded in 2010. They also have a pretty rad collection of random photos on their tumblr worthy of a quick scroll.
I don't know about you guys but I would kill for that pink Houston, or any off their frames for that matter. I need to rob a bank, or get a job. On that note I will leave you with a bit of Balance and Composure.
The last ride at home is always a bitter sweet one. The scenery in Bucks County never ceases to amaze me and nothing beats empty back roads with sunny skies. I feel like every time I ride at home, I am discovering new roads and interesting new spots. Today I found a boldly painted, drive-in dry cleaner, a classic covered bridge, The Delaware River and a picturesque lavender farm by a lake. Now back to Centre County; to State College and beyond!
I have also decided to start including a song in most of my posts from now on. It will either be something that I am into at the time, something that relates to the post or just something to jam to. Cheers!
I was looking through a bunch of pictures I took off of the internet over the past couple of months and came across this gem. According to Tre3e Fixed, where the photo originally came from, the cyclist is March Sich of the Apologie Bike Polo Team playing an unnamed horse polo player. Pretty wild shot, it would be cool to watch a horse vs. bike polo game (so dangerous). I'm also a sucker from black and white shots.
Music festivals are honestly one of my favorite places to be. The atmosphere is always awesome, the people are great, all of your favorite artist are playing in one place and most importantly they're outside. Basically an explosion of ridiculously raging outdoor music. I was scrolling through my blog-roll today and came across these epic pictures of Outlook 2011 which is held in Croatia. From what I have gathered Outlook is an unbelievable four day festival held in Pula, Croatia in the beginning of September. These are a few of my favorite shots but if you are yearning for more check out Better Never Than Late.
If you are interested, the program from the festival is pretty cool and I definitely recommend checking it out.
For the past couple of days the weather in state college has been absolutely beautiful, the temperature is prefect, the leaves are all changing and there is not a cloud in the sky. Recently I have been able to explore a bit more of the area around State College. It's mostly farm land but honestly it never gets old, it's just so therapeutic. Fall has always been my favorite season so get out there and ride before it starts snowing and we're all stuck pedaling in place.
This past weekend I decided it was in my best interest to brave the blizzard and make the trek home to attend the Philadelphia Bike Expo and man did it pay off. The 23rd Street Armory is an awesome venue with plenty of room and a really cool atmosphere. There were tons of vendors and the cream of the crop when it comes to north eastern frame builders. Some of my personal favorites included Peter Mooney, Royal H and of course Icarus and Bishop. Also noteworthy was Holland Cycles, I talked to a rep for a bit and the material they make their frames out of is so high-tech and beautiful that I couldn't help but drool (a mind blowing combination of Titanium and Carbon Fiber). Unfortunately my camera is terrible and I didn't get too many pictures. There was also an outdoor section where cyclists were selling their own hodge-podge of parts or in some cases, just showing off their RIDICULOUS collection of vintage bicycles. I had the opportunity to have a short conversation with the man himself, Mr. Jon "Prolly" Watson, which I might add was pretty cool. I hope everyone that attended had as much fun as I did and I hope to see you next year (hopefully I'll have a real camera by then)!

I'm no expert when it comes to Italian and Google translate can only get you so far, but as they say a picture (or a whole slew of them) is worth 1000 words. I spotted this awesome photoset on FRESHNGOOD's website of the 2011 retro cycling L'Eroica event. From what I have gathered L'Eroica is a retro themed bike race that follows an unbelievable route through the Tuscany countryside (who wouldn't want to do that?).
