Summer Lovin'

Leafcycles - Fixed Session from crowny-entertainment on Vimeo.
Spotted on Flwrider

I spotted this video by Leafcycles and it got me so stoked for riding in nice weather again.  After freezing my fingers off for months in a row I am more than ready for spring.  There is still snow on the ground here but green is coming. Get out there and ride!

Out of Commission

 Photobucket

A few weeks back I was in a bit of an accident and just recently found out the wrist is broken.  Considering I only have a fixed gear right now, it seems I won't be riding much for the next 6-8 weeks.  Blah.

The Extinguisher

 Photobucket

These pictures have been burning a hole in my desktop for the past week and every time I look at them they are even more unbelievable.  This is the craziest extinguisher piece I've seen to date. Definitely diggin' the celeste and I love the gran turismo in the background of the second picture.  Check out more rad photos on Ilk Flottante.

Kidult also hit two other spots recently.  Killing it!

Messenger

"Messenger" Trailer from rebecca brillhart on Vimeo.
Spotted on Prolly and for more on Cinecycle check their website

For me the world of bike messengers has always been intriguing, especially those fighting traffic in NYC on a daily basis.  This documentary, filmed in 2005, focuses a lot on the more competitive aspect of being a messanger, especially the life and travels of, Puma sponsored, Alfred Bobe.  I would love to see the whole documentary but it is not easy to come by.

This short clip also has one of the best quotes I've heard in a while.  Referring to Lance Armstrong a NYC bike messenger says, "you talking on a straight away, I'm not fucking with that cat, the man got it.  6 Tour de Frances, the man got it.  But you put that mother fucker in the middle of 6th ave. at about 5 o'clock in the evening and race me, you're not making it."

Respect.

FucknFilthy always spotlights the most awesome photographers and Ojae is no exception.  I love the urban feel of a lot of his photos.  These were just a few of my favorites and I definitely recommend checking out more on his blog.

A Great Day For Cycling

Photobucket

While surfing around the bloggosphere today it came to my attention that today is not only the late great Cino Cinelli's birthday but ALSO the birthday of Ernesto Colnago.  Where would cycling be without these two dudes?!

Planet Hops

2011년 토끼해 방방 날뛰세. from KS Yun on Vimeo.
Spotted on Prolly

I'm not usually a fan of Fixed Gear Freestyle videos.  Honestly, most of the "edits" that have come out recently are an utter bore. Mediocre camera angles and the same old tricks. Sometimes the molasses like progression of fixed gear freestyle is just too much. This video however held my interest throughout. I love the DMX soundtrack and every trick is right there in your face (The hop to flat at 0:40 is gnarly).  Overall it's an interesting video with cool camera angles and superb editing.  I haven't heard much about the Planet Hops guys but I'm definitely going to keep an eye on them.
